One of the most important factors in making the most of your hair extension experience is by understanding the product. Here are some tips and terminology we thought might be helpful.

What is Virgin Human Hair?

It is hair in its purest, raw, unprocessed state. Virgin hair has never been chemically damaged, which prevents you from receiving damaged hair and allows the hair you purchase to keep all of its natural qualities.  Virgin Human Hair reaches you in its 100% natural state.

What is Remy Hair?

“Remy” is the industry term used to describe hair that was selected from a single donor, “root end first.” During the selection process, the cuticles covering each strand of hair are kept intact and all of the strands of hair are kept in one direction, which helps maintain stronger, healthier, beautiful hair that becomes a long lasting product for you.  This collection process also prevents the hair from matting or tangling, as synthetic hair or packaged human hair.

Why Virgin Indian Hair?

The hair and beauty industries currently consider Indian hair as the best hair for wigs and extensions. Virgin Indian hair comes in various textures, which allows it to blend well with various ethnicities.  Virgin Indian hair comes in bulk, Machine weft or hand-tied.  Bulk hair is used for braiding.  Machine wefts and hand-tied wefts are used for weaving. 

What is “bulk” hair used for?

Bulk hair is loose hair without a weft, which is why it is shipped, tied in a bundle to keep it together.  Please go to a professional when getting your hair braided with virgin Indian bulk hair.  It is not the same as store bought hair and will tangle if not braided with root end up.

What is “wefted” hair?

It is loose hair that has been taken and machine sewn to a weft.

How long does Virgin Indian Hair last?

The life of your hair extensions depends on how well you treat and maintain it.  DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. can last up to two years if it is washed, conditioned, and treated properly.   Here are a few maintenance tips.

Maintenance Instructions for Straight/ Wavy & Select Curly Hair:

Shampooing & Rinse

Cleanse your hair every 7-14 days using a gentle cleansing and moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.  We recommend you to deep condition your Indian hair once every two months to help maintain the virgin qualities of the hair.

DO NOT massage shampoo directly into the scalp as this will cause the tracks to loosen and may induce tangling at the weft.  Cleanse the scalp by gently rubbing in-between the tracks.  Lather the shampoo in between your hands and start from tip to root.  Wash the hair in a downward motion and in a gentle stream, rinse the shampoo out.


It is very important the hair stays hydrated and moisturized to upkeep its shine, radiance, and durability.  Use a Moisturizing conditioner with the hair to ensure the hair will receive deep conditioning which helps keep it silky soft.   Apply conditioner generously from tips to root, rinse with warm water under a gentle stream.

After washing your hair recommend using a leave in conditioner to ensure the hair is safe from heat styling and humidity.   The hair can be dried under a hooded dryer, blown dry or dry naturally.  Check the tracks to be sure there is no excess dampness to avoid damage or an unwanted odor.

Deep Conditioning Treatments:

Optional:  Since the hair is not attached to the scalp it is not receiving the same nutrients.  It is important to restore health back into the hair after excessive heat styling and the wear and tear of weather.   Most moisturizing deep conditioner will achieve these results.  After applying the conditioner, put a plastic cap on and sit under a hooded hair dryer for 15-20 minutes.  These treatments can be done once a month to ensure the hair is restored. You will feel like you just bought the fresh hair with these treatments!  Treat your virgin Indian hair like you would treat your own hair.

**We recommend Daily Moisture Dove Shampoo and Conditioner**

Daily care & styling:

  • It is suggested to use a wide tooth comb or paddle brush, and use very gentle strokes. When brushing your hair, start from the bottom and work your way up to the top.  Be careful not to pull too hard when combing your hair.

  • Do not add heavy products to your Indian hair, to avoid weighing down the hair or making it look greasy.  Instead, opt for lightweight serums (Biosilk) and leave in conditioners.

  • Make sure you’re also keeping your scalp and natural hair in good condition while wearing your extensions. Your own hair can become dry and brittle if it isn’t moisturized regularly.  Also make sure to condition your scalp and hairline.

  • Wearing “wavy/curly” hair:  Spray on water, or a diluted formula of water and leave-in moisturizing conditioner to bring out the natural waves in your Indian hair.  For best results, saturate your entire head, apply a light serum or holding mousse, and scrunch in an upward motion.  Allow the hair to air dry, or blow dry using a diffuser.

  • You can also flat-iron or curl your hair using heating tools.  

  • Before sleeping ensure that you comb through your hair thoroughly and detangle where necessary.  This is especially important when wearing textured curly hair.  Section out hair into two to four partings, plait loosely and tie down with a silk scarf.  This will help lock in natural oils, prevent hairline breakage and preserve your style.

Can Virgin Indian Hair be color-treated?

Yes. Because DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. is 100% human hair, it can be dyed, using permanent, semi-permanent and cellophane colors.  However, we recommend you to consult with an experienced hair care professional for such treatments.

How much hair should I order?

The size of your purchase will depend on the texture of hair you are purchasing and the style you’d like to achieve. For a full head of hair, we recommend at least 8 ounces.  However, if you’re looking to simply add volume to your own hair, 4 ounces can be more than enough.  Each 4 ounce bundle is equivalent to 1 pack of hair.  2 packs are recommended if choosing a length 18 inches or less. For lengths longer than 18 inches we may recommend a third pack for fullness.  The longer the length of hair, the shorter the width of the track end to end, this means you will need more hair for more coverage for more volume and fullness.  Our virgin Indian hair maintains its quality so if you have some hair left you can always use it at a later time.  Feel free to contact us directly for assistance with choosing the right amount.  

How many grams is a 4 ounce bundle equal to?

Approximately 120 grams is the equivalent of 4 ounces (1 bundle) of virgin Indian hair.

Hair Length:

All DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. is measured when it is completely straight in order to offer the most accurate measurement.  Depending on the texture of hair you purchase, the length of the hair may seem shorter than the measurement you saw at purchase.  Straight hair, of course, will appear truest to the measurement.  DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. provides bundles ranging from 10-30 inches in length in all styles/textures.  Please keep in mind that the longer the length the less volume there is so you should buy accordingly.

**At this time special orders have to be placed for Deep Kinky curly, Bulk hair, Headband wigs, and hand-tied weft extensions.**

Can I go swimming with my virgin Indian hair? 

Yes, you can absolutely go in swimming.  It is best to wash hair right after swimming.  Avoid getting hair in salt water as the salt can take all the moisture out of the hair and tangle.  Never braid your hair and go into salt water.  It is best to wear it down. Also, add a spray in conditioner after swimming.

What types of products should I use? 

Moisture is the most important thing.  Moisturizing products shampoo and conditioners are the best, while spray in conditioners and light weight serums are recommended for the ends.

Product disclaimer:

Texture Disclaimer – Because of the distinct nature of human hair, two heads of hair are never exactly the same.

Natural Color Disclaimer – Our products are not processed or colored so our virgin Indian hair only comes in the natural shades between 1B (Off Black), 2 (Dark Brown), & 4 (Medium Brown).  There will be color variations between bundles, some lighter and some darker due to the authenticity of the Virgin Human Indian hair.

Gray Hair Disclaimer - Virgin Indian hair is cut directly from a donors' head and wefted; therefore, hair bundles may have some gray hairs due to the authenticity of the Virgin Human Indian hair.

Terms of Payment:

Terms of payment for DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. are 100% upfront.  We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.  We process all credit card transactions through PayPal only.  Credit cards are charged upon order placement. 

Processing Orders:

Business hours are From Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm EST.  Orders received Monday through Friday before 2:00 pm EST are processed and shipped the within 1 - 2 business days of processing payment and packaging if the length and texture is in stock.  If it is a Holiday then the package will ship the next business day.  ALL orders over $600 regardless of the type of shipping selected will have to wait a 2 - 3 day processing time period for payment to clear before the order will be shipped via UPS Next Day AM or Next Day Saver shipping.  All Pre-Orders ship with 7-14 business days.

Expedited Shipping:

During certain high demand time periods various shipping methods might not be available online our website, however, if the expedited shipping does not reflect on the website please contact us and we can ensure that UPS Next Day AM and Saver are available upon email request.

Product Availability:  

If for any reason we are unable to fulfill your order, you will be contacted immediately in regards to receiving a replacement.  If a replacement is not acceptable you have the right to terminate the sale and we will refund the amount charged to you.

Delayed Shipping:

It is prudent to order your purchase in advance to allow for unanticipated delays with shipping.  DeBonaire Select Hair, Inc. is not liable for late shipments due to holidays, natural disasters, or carrier delays.  Government holidays do not count as a business day and should be considered when calculating shipping times.  We assign UPS to deliver your package on time.  We also provide a tracking number for your convenience, which can be viewed online via  If your package is delayed we will not offer a reimbursement of shipping charges.  If you have any further inquiries, please email us at:

Failed/Cancelled Deliveries, Refused/Lost Shipment(s), Incorrect Shipping Address:

All orders will be shipped via UPS to the shipping address that is provided.  It is important that we are provided with accurate and complete information regarding your shipping address.  Once the order is placed and shipped, you will be provided with a tracking number, which will be sent to your email address if provided.  If you do not receive a tracking number, please do not hesitate to call or email us so we can provide one for you.  The tracking number is provided for your convenience to follow your package in transit.   If any incomplete information is given, UPS will charge a service fee for address corrections, which then would be charged to the customer.  For any shipments returned to us due to a bad address, refusal upon delivery, a 20% cancellation fee will be charged.  We do not refund any abandoned or refused shipments.  We are not responsible for any lost or stolen packages.

At DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. we stand behind our products and guarantee customer satisfaction 100%.  Each and every bundle of hair is inspected and prepared under professional supervision in our factory in India.   After thorough cleaning and inspection, the hair receives a second round of inspection before getting shipped out to our customers.   All of our hair goes through a meticulous process to ensure that you are receiving the best quality product possible.  Contact us if there is a concern, or if you have questions. At DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. we make sure that all of your expectations are met. 

We make every effort to make your order as accurate as possible.  Some factors which should be considered while purchasing our products is that we specialize in 100% virgin, unprocessed, virgin Indian human hair.   Our hair comes from different Indian women donors.  Therefore, each bundle will be unique but similar in texture pattern.  We are not responsible for the changes or alterations done to the hair once it has left our premises including chemically processing, cutting, coloring, or texturizing the hair.  Our natural hair comes in a straight, wavy, and curly pattern.  Our wavy and straight hair comes only in shades Natural 1B and 2.  Our curly hair comes typically only in the shade 1B but sometimes it is available in 2 upon request.  Please keep in mind; refunds and/or exchanges will not be issued for dissatisfaction with the color or texture of the hair. 

Important: Due to nature of the hair product, sanitary measures, and important federal laws and health regulations, we cannot accept the return of used hair and all sales are final.

Limitation of Liability:

DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. reserves the right to make changes and adjust prices, policies, and procedures.  We also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.   Please check this page periodically for updates and changes.  DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. does not accept liability beyond the remedies set forth herein, including any liability for products not being available for, or the provision of services and support.  DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. will not be liable for consequential special, indirect or severe damages even if advised of the possibility of such damages in regards to any third party except which is provided herein.  DeBonaire Select Hair Inc. is not liable or responsible for any amount of damage above the aggregate dollar amount paid by the customer for the purchase of product(s) under this agreement.

Exchanges and Cancellations:

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.  If an Exchange is requested and approved the exchange must be requested within 3 days from the delivery date and client pays for return shipping fees.  Items must be in the original condition.  

 Exchanges must meet the following conditions:

  • Must not be washed, used or altered in any form.
  • Must be in the security zip ties
  • Must not be chemically altered.
  • Must have proof of purchase
  • Must be in original packaging with tags

*Accepted Exchanges have a 10% restocking fee (Not including return shipping or any new shipping fee for the exchange).  For an order exchange request please follow these directions:

  1. Contact Us at and put Order Exchange and the Order number in the Subject line, send a photo of items to be exchanged, the new length or texture wanted, wait for approval, and ship the item/s being exchanged back.
  2. We’ll issue a refund or store credit at your request for any applicable price difference if the exchange is lower than the original order purchase within 3 to 10 business days of receiving the exchange.
  3. If the exchange costs more than the original order we will send an email with the remaining balance to be paid before the new exchange item/s is shipped.
  4. Exchange must be shipped to original purchase shipping address.

*Order Cancellations must be requested within 24 hours of placing an order.  After the order has been processed and shipment has been created an order cannot be cancelled.  If an order cancellation has been accepted within the 24 hour time window the refund will be processed to the original payment method minus a 15% restocking fee.  For an order cancellation request please follow these directions:

  2. After order cancellation has been granted we will cancel or reverse the payment to the original payment method.

To delete all of your online account information from our database, sign into the “My Account” section of our site and remove your shipping address, billing address & payment information. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping.
